The Vanguard pulls another one out of it's hat this week with another killer show that's flying under the radar. Tulsa already knows local opener The Bourgeois and Well Hung Heart played a great, if sparsely attended, show here in March on the band's trip down to Austin for SXSW. The real draw here, though, is headliner The Virginmarys - a trio of like minded British rockers from Manchester that combine the classic rock swagger of T.Rex with the intensity of the Sex Pistols, the emotional pull of Nirvana and the no nonsense, straight-forward attitude of Foo Fighters. The band's first full-length disc, King of Conflict, was produced independently by the band and licensed out for distribution once the labels came calling, indicative of the band's hands on approach to rock & roll: Keep it simple, keep it real and keep it intense! if you like the album, you'll love the live show. And if you don't know them, but just love rock & roll, don't miss this one.
